San Angelo Police Warn of Jury Duty Scam Targeting Residents

SAN ANGELO, TX — The San Angelo Police Department has issued a warning about a phone scam targeting local residents.

Scammers are falsely claiming individuals have an outstanding arrest warrant for missing federal jury duty and demanding payment to avoid arrest.

The callers, who often claim to be affiliated with the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office (TGCSO), typically contact victims using blocked or unknown numbers. They attempt to create urgency and fear to coerce payments.

Law enforcement stated that agencies will never demand payment over the phone. They urged residents to avoid sharing personal information and to hang up immediately if contacted by these scammers.

Those who believe they have been targeted are encouraged to contact the San Angelo Police Department at 325-657-4315 for assistance or to report the incident.
