Gun Found on Campus at Yarbrough Elementary in Midland

MIDLAND, TX — A gun and bullets were discovered Tuesday on the campus of Yarbrough Elementary School in Midland. 

According to Midland ISD, a group of students notified a teacher after seeing a gun and bullets lying outside near the school’s portable classrooms. Campus administrators, along with Midland ISD police, retrieved and secured the weapon.

Officials confirmed that no students or staff were ever in danger. Authorities are investigating how the firearm ended up on school grounds.
