Teen with Stolen Firearm Arrested After Brief Pursuit

 

SAN ANGELO, TX— A teenager was taken into custody after being in possession of a stolen firearm near an elementary school.

According to a press release by San Angelo Police Sergeant John Bouligny, on January 2, 2025, around 2:09 p.m., a plainclothes detective observed a male subject armed with a firearm near Bowie Elementary and requested backup. Upon officers arrival in the area, a 15-year-old male fled from the scene.

After a brief pursuit, the subject was taken into custody without incident.

The suspect fled through several yards in the area, and officers later recovered a stolen firearm that had been in his possession that was traced back to a local burglary.

At this time, no further information is available.

Due to the involvement of a minor, no names will be released.
