SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo woman has been indicted for sharing promiscuous screenshots without consent.
Vivian Ruiz, 34, of San Angelo, was indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury for publishing intimate visual material.
According to court documents, on July 16, 2024, a San Angelo police officer responded to the 400 block of East Beauregard Avenue in San Angelo regarding a report of harassment.
Investigators spoke with the officer, who spoke with the victim, and learned that the defendant, identified as Ruiz, located intimate videos of the victim on her boyfriend’s cellphone. Ruiz found the videos and allegedly took a screenshot of the video and then sent it to a witness. The victim was identified in the screenshots by her face being partially visible and various tattoos on the victim’s body.
The victim sent two videos to Ruiz’s boyfriend in exchange for money, and she expected them to remain private. She also did not give anyone consent or permission to share the videos.
During an interview with Ruiz, she allegedly admitted to finding the intimate videos in her boyfriend’s cellphone, taking a screenshot, and sending it to the witness.
Ruiz was arrested on September 13, 2024, and was released the next day on a $5,000 bond. She is next due in court on January 21, 2025.
