SAN ANGELO, TX— More details about the arrest of a San Angelo man who was allegedly in possession of child pornography have been released.
Albert Olivera, 63, of San Angelo, was arrested on November 21, 2024, on six counts of possession of child pornography.
According to court documents and a press release, investigators received a cyber tip on October 15, 2024, from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children.
The cyber tip showed that in August 2024, an unknown person using a specific IP address had uploaded images suspected of containing child pornography using "Microsoft BingImage." More commonly known as Bing.
The investigator submitted a grand jury subpoena to Suddenlink Communications for the subscriber information and that provided an individual, identified as Olivera, with an address on the 1100 block of Cyndi Lane in San Angelo.
Then, a search warrant for the property on Cyndi Lane was obtained and on November 20, 2024, that search warrant was executed. Several electronic devices were seized from the residence which included an Amazon Fire tablet.
While the search warrant was being executed, investigators conducted an interview with Olivera who allegedly stated that child pornography had popped up on his tablet before and “may” have been saved to the device. Olivera estimated that the youngest child he had seen depicted in child pornography had been around 10 years old.
Using forensic software, the investigator discovered 800 images and two videos that contained child pornography. Many of the files contained children as young as eight. The investigator also noted that there were more than 800 images containing child pornography saved on the tablet but once the investigator reached 800, he stopped counting. Also, 17 of the images depicted bestiality with children.
Those images also contained hardcore sexual acts with children as young as two, three, four, and five years old.
