Two Individuals Take Plea Deals for Whiskey River Saloon Fight

SAN ANGELO, TX— Two people involved in the Whiskey River Saloon fight where a U.S. Marine was killed have agreed to plea deals.

Jennifer Contreras Guerrero, 49, of San Angelo, agreed to a plea deal for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.

Raymond Scott, 31, agreed to a plea deal for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to court documents, on Oct. 2, 2022, an investigator went to a local hospital after a stabbing at Whiskey River Saloon, 125 E. Concho Ave.

The investigator learned that one of the victims, identified as Bryce Rudisell, was involved in a fight at Whiskey River and was deceased. Another victim was seriously injured in an assault. The victim said he was walking out of Whiskey River to his vehicle when he saw his friends being assaulted by several people. When he attempted to step in and help his friends, he was assaulted.

Cell phone footage was recorded of the attack, and officers spoke with a witness who stated she was at the bar with her husband, identified as Ray Vera, who is currently serving life in prison for the stabbing death of Rudisell, and some other friends. The witness said after the altercation, she and Vera drove to a residence on University Avenue that was owned by someone nicknamed “Casino”.

Casino, who was identified as Anthony Giese, was also involved in the fight and had a bloody face.

A photo of Giese and a woman, identified as Guerrero, was shown to investigators. After reviewing the cell phone footage, it was determined Guerrero was also involved in the assault. The footage showed the surviving victim being held on the ground by Giese and also showed Guerrero, Raymond Scott, Julian Suarez, and Ray Vera repeatedly assault him.

The surviving victim suffered a fractured forearm, fractured left thumb, black eye, cuts to the side of his left eye, and a head injury resulting in a concussion.

In exchange for a guilty plea, Guerrero was sentenced to six years deferred adjudication and must pay a $1,500 fine and $460 in restitution.

Scott has agreed to eight years deferred adjudication and $460 in restitution. The judge has not yet signed off on Scott’s plea deal.

Suarez recently pled guilty in a jury trial for his involvement, and Vera is serving life in prison.

Giese has a final criminal pre-trial on Nov. 21, 2024, and a jury trial set for Dec. 2, 2024,
