Police on the Hunt for Suspect in Texas Sexual Assaults

HOUSTON, TX — Houston police are actively searching for a suspect believed to be involved in a string of sexual assaults targeting Hispanic women along West Gulf Bank Road since mid-August.

Denzell Sneed, 29, was arrested and charged last week in connection with two of the attacks, which reportedly took place on August 14 and November 8. His bond was set at $100,000 per case as he faces multiple charges, including two counts of rape. Police say Sneed allegedly followed one of his victims into her apartment after she returned from dropping her child at a nearby bus stop.

Houston police believe a second suspect is responsible for three additional attacks that occurred in October, all within the same area. Surveillance footage of this unidentified man has been released as police seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating him.

Authorities clarified that they do not believe Sneed and the second suspect are connected. Investigators were able to identify both men through photo lineups, and DNA evidence is being expedited through the forensic science center to strengthen the cases.

All the victims in this series of assaults are Hispanic women, though detectives have yet to determine whether ethnicity played a role in the suspect’s selection of victims.

The most recent reported assault occurred last Friday at an apartment complex off West Little York, where the suspect entered an unlocked apartment and attacked a woman inside.
