SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo man has been arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after putting a knife to a woman’s throat.
Thomas Navarro, 32, of San Angelo, has been arrested by the San Angelo Police Department for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
According to court documents, on September 21, 2024, San Angelo police officers responded to the San Angelo Lodge, located at 1717 West Beauregard Avenue, regarding an assault victim. The responding officers located the victim sitting outside near the motel.
The victim said that she was invited to the location by the defendant, identified as Navarro because he wanted to have sex with the victim. When he refused his advances, Navarro retrieved a knife and held it against the victim’s throat, applying some pressure. The victim was able to get away from Navarro and leave the room.
Officers knew Navarro from previous encounters and saw him standing near a balcony. They detained him pending further investigation.
A small superficial abrasion was observed on the victim’s neck.
A witness said he was outside the motel when the victim approached him. When the victim left, Navarro came downstairs as police were arriving. When asked why the police were there, Navarro said, “They are probably here for me because I pulled a knife on some b*tch. I should have killed her.”
Navarro spoke with the investigator who said he invited the victim inside his motel room but denied pulling a knife on her. Navarro did say he owned a knife and police located a red in color, four-inch, folding knife, hidden behind the bed along the west wall of the motel room, according to information.
Navarro was arrested on September 21, 2024, and is currently an inmate in the Tom Green County Jail being held on a $15,000 bond.
