San Angelo Arms Dealer Takes Plea Deal for Murder of Jacob Hernandez

 

SAN ANGELO, TX— A San Angelo arms dealer who was involved in the killing of Jacob Hernandez has taken a plea deal for murder.

Mykah Saldivar, 23, has agreed to a plea deal for murder after he either sold or gave the gun that was used in the murder of Jacob Hernandez back in 2021.

Hernandez was shot and killed on May 26, 2021, during a burglary. San Angelo police were dispatched to the Nueva Vista Apartments, located at 2401 Lillie Street, for a shooting victim. When police arrived, they located at firearm on the steps leading to apartment 816. Hernandez was found in the apartment with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Surveillance footage was recovered and used to identify David Rodriguez and Francisco Morales, who were eventually arrested for the murder.

Through the investigation, Salidvar was named as the individual who sold the gun used to shoot Hernandez.

In exchange for a guilty plea, Saldivar was sentenced to 30 years for Murder and 10 years for Deadly Conduct by Discharge of a Firearm. The documents for the murder charge have not yet been signed by a judge but the documents for the deadly conduct charge have been.
