Lake View Student Arrested for Having Firearm on School Grounds

 

SAN ANGELO, TX— The San Angelo Police Department has arrested a juvenile for brandishing a firearm at Lake View High School.

In information release by San Angelo Police Sergeant John Bouligny, on September 12, 2024, the San Angelo Police Department was notified of a social media post that depicted a Lake View High School student brandishing a firearm inside a vehicle on the Lake View campus on a different date.

An investigation was conducted with the assistance of the San Angelo Independent School District, the San Angelo Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit, the Anti-Crime Unit, and the school’s resource officer.

The investigation is still ongoing however, probable cause was developed for one juvenile for “Places Weapons Prohibited," a third-degree felony, and he has been arrested for this charge.

This incident had nothing to do with the false threats that circulated this week with area schools.
