Couple Kidnapped and Assaulted, Lamborghini Stolen; Six Men Arrested

DANBURY, CT – A couple in their 50s was assaulted, kidnapped, and had their Lamborghini stolen while house hunting in a gated community in Danbury, Connecticut, on Sunday afternoon. Six men from Florida have been arrested in connection with the crime.

It happened when the couple, who arrived in the luxury car to meet a real estate agent, were purposely rear-ended by a van. As they exited their vehicle to inspect the damage, they were ambushed by six men who beat them with a baseball bat and forced them into the van. The suspects duct-taped the couple’s hands and feet and blindfolded the husband before speeding away. Other suspects fled in the couple’s Lamborghini and two other vehicles.

A witness who saw the attack called the police and followed the van, capturing video footage of it speeding around town. The van eventually lost control and crashed, after which the suspects fled on foot. Police found the husband and wife inside the van and transported them to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

After a search of the area, four of the suspects were apprehended near the crash site, and the remaining two were found at a short-term rental home. The suspects, identified as Angel Borrero, 23; Reynaldo Diaz, 22; Anthony Pena, 23; Josue Romero, 26; Ricardo Estrada, 21; and Michael Rivas, 18, are all from Miami, Florida, and have no apparent connection to the victims.

The suspects are facing several charges, including first-degree assault, first-degree kidnapping, and reckless endangerment. Police believe the couple was specifically targeted, though the motive remains unclear.
