SAN ANGELO, TX— A San Angelo woman has been indicted for sexually assaulting a young boy while allegedly drunk.
Corinne Rojas, 22, of San Angelo, was indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury for Indecency with a Child by Sexual Contact.
According to court documents, on May 25, 2024, a San Angelo police officer contacted an investigator by phone with allegations that Rojas had sexual contact with a 13-year-old.
A forensic interview was conducted with the child victim who stated he was alone and asleep in bed when Rojas woke him up by getting on top of him and kissing his head. Rojas then allegedly started moving back and forth on the child’s private area while trying to kiss him again. The child pushed Rojas off of him and ran out of the room to tell an adult in the home.
The child victim recalled Rojas not having clothes on from the waist down and was only wearing a shirt. The child was fully clothed during the encounter.
Rojas spoke with investigators and waived her constitutional rights and agreed to an interview. She claimed that she put the victim to bed between 10 and 11 p.m. and then began drinking alcoholic beverages until she blacked out. Rojas allegedly said that she does not remember anything about what happened between then and when the police arrived at the residence.
When Rojas was told what the child victim claimed she did to him. Rojas said that the child would not lie about her, and she believed what the child said was the truth. Then, Rojas said she believed that she probably thought the child victim was someone else and would never do that to the child while not intoxicated.
Rojas was arrested on May 25, 2024, and has remained an inmate in the Tom Green County Jail since being held on a $100,000 bond. She is next due in court on September 10, 2024.
