San Angelo Man Indicted for Pointing a Gun in Victim's Face

SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo man has been indicted after pointing a gun at a victim in a drive-thru.

Jesse James Galvan, 35, of San Angelo, has been indicted for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

According to court documents, at around 2:30 a.m., San Angelo police officers were dispatched to the 4600 block of Knickerbocker Road on April 28, 2024, regarding a reported threat.

Investigators learned that the victim was parked in his vehicle at a restaurant’s drive-thru. Rear dash camera footage from the victim’s vehicle showed Galvan’s black truck driving up behind him. Galvan allegedly hit the victim’s vehicle in the drive-thru at one point which caused the victim to exit his position in line and pull to the curb.

The victim exited his vehicle and walked towards Galvan’s truck. When the victim went to exchange insurance information with Galvan, he was greeted at the truck window with a firearm pointed toward his face.

Then, the victim raised his hand and immediately retreated back to his own vehicle, verbalizing that Galvan had a gun. Surveillance video shows Galvan moving from the drive-thru line to position his truck behind the victim, seemingly to continue being aggressive.

Galvan, appearing to still be in possession of a handgun, rolled down his passenger window and yelled insults at the victim. He then drove around the restaurant and repositioned his vehicle behind the victim to confront him again. After, Galvan departed the scene and was not located by responding officers.

The rear dash camera footage from the victim’s vehicle gave police a license plate which gave an address for Galvan. There, Galvan’s truck was parked and unoccupied near his apartment.

Galvan was arrested on May 1, 2024, and was released on May 2, 2024, on $150,000 bond. Galvan is next due in court on August 12, 2024, for a plea hearing.
