False Reports of Active Shooter in Odessa Confirmed Unfounded

 

ODESSA, TX – The City of Odessa confirmed that reports of an active shooter circulating on social media are false, following a flurry of concerned calls from residents.

City officials stated that these claims, which sparked widespread alarm, are baseless.

Authorities reassured the public that there was no active shooter and no threat to the community.

“We are receiving calls and concerns about an active shooter due to false claims being made on social media,” read the official statement from the City of Odessa. “These calls have been found to be false. There is currently no active shooter and no threat to the City of Odessa.”
