Synder Man Attacked and Killed by Pair of Dogs

 

SNYDER, TX— Information has been released regarding a fatal dog attack in Snyder where a man was killed by two dogs.

On Thursday, June 27, 2024, the Snyder Police Department issued a statement and identified a man who was attacked and killed by two dogs.

According to the Snyder Police Department:

On Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 6:01 AM, the Snyder Police Department and Scurry County EMS were dispatched to the 2900 block of Avenue J in reference to a person lying in the road.

Upon arrival, they located a deceased male subject. During the initial investigation, the male subject was identified as 40-year-old Toby Bryan Berkley.

At this time, it appears that Mr. Berkley was walking down the road and was killed in a dog attack. An autopsy was performed this morning and preliminary results have confirmed this. The two dogs involved in this attack have been secured at the Snyder Animal Shelter and the owner has been identified.

The Texas Rangers were notified and are assisting in this investigation.

No further information will be released at this time.
