Man Indicted for Assaulting an Elderly Woman and a Cop

SAN ANGELO, TX— A San Angelo man was indicted for assaulting both an elderly woman and a police officer.

Sesario Perez, 45, of San Angelo, has been indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury for assault of an elderly person and assault of a police officer.

According to court documents, on March 28, 2024, San Angelo police were dispatched to the 500 block of East 20th Street regarding a disturbance call. When officers arrived, they learned that Perez had assaulted an elderly woman by grabbing and pushing her to the ground.

When speaking with the victim, she said that she was feeding the dogs and Perez became agitated with her. He began yelling at her to leave the house, but the victim lived at the residence whereas Perez was just staying there.

Perez allegedly grabbed the victim and pushed her to the ground. Investigators observed fresh dirt on the victim, and she had visible injuries to her left knee.

While attempting to detain and arrest Perez, he turned and punched an officer in the face with a closed fist. The officer was in full patrol uniform and was exercising his duty as a San Angelo Police Officer.

Perez was arrested on March 28, 2024, and has remained an inmate in the Tom Green County Jail since. He is being held on $80,000 bond.
