SAN ANGELO, TX — A routine traffic stop early Saturday by the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office resulted in a drug arrest after deputies discovered methamphetamine and marijuana in a vehicle.
It happened after deputies pulled over Wesley Mitcham, 27, of San Angelo, for a moving violation around the city’s north side. An investigation that followed led to the discovery of over 94 grams of methamphetamine and a smaller amount of marijuana.
Mitcham was arrested and charged with possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1 for amounts between 4 grams and 200 grams, which is a second-degree felony.
He also faces three outstanding warrants from the City of San Angelo, according to the sheriff's office.
Mitcham was released from custody Saturday after posting a $27,542.00 bond.
The sheriff's office has not disclosed additional details about the traffic stop or the ongoing investigation.
