Jury Trial Date Set in San Angelo for Accused Murderer

 

SAN ANGELO— An alleged murderer was in court in San Angelo today and his jury trial date has been set.

Kenneth Lamar Harvey, 41, was in court Monday for a bond hearing and his jury trial has been set for June 3, 2024. Harvey has been charged with the murder of Eric Talton and tampering with physical evidence. Harvey was indicted back in October 2023.

According to court documents, on August 24, 2022, a missing person investigation was opened as Eric Talton was reported missing. Talton’s mother said that her son had been murdered and his body was moved out of San Angelo to the outskirts of San Antonio. She claimed to receive the information from several unconfirmed sources.

Talton’s mother said that two people were involved with moving her son’s body, one being Harvey and the other being Brittany Schoonmaker. On August 18, 2022, a body that had been discovered from a grass fire around seven miles east of Junction off of Interstate 10.

The body was confirmed to be Talton. Schoonmaker and Harvey were arrested in Dekalb County, Georgia after warrants were issued for their arrests. They were booked into the Tom Green County Jail on August 9, 2023.

Harvey is currently an inmate inside the Tom Green County Jail being held on $1.5 million dollar bond and is next due in court on April 16, 2024, for a hearing before his jury trial on June 3, 2024.
