Dangerous Escaped Fugitive Captured

SAN ANGELO, TX - At approximately 11:30 a.m. today, March 4, the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office obtained two search and arrest warrants to be served in San Angelo for the arrest of T'Jon Walker.

The 17-year-old had escaped from the Tom Green County Juvenile Justice Center on January 8, 2024, after violently assaulting a guard and escaping the facility on foot with two other inmates.

The two accomplices were captured the following day, but Walker remained at large, and an investigation into his location remained active.

Acting on information gained through investigation, search warrants were obtained for an address in the 900 Block of Shiloh and the 1900 Block of Raney Street.

At approximately 1 p.m., the Tom Green County Special Response Team (SRT) executed the warrant in the 900 Block of Shiloh only to find the fugitive had left the residence. As the SRT team and deputies closed in to serve the second search warrant on Raney Street, Walker was observed attempting to flee the area on foot and was taken into custody.

Walker had been detained in the Tom Green County Juvenile Justice Center for Deadly Conduct - Discharge of a Firearm and Theft of a Firearm.

Pursuant to this arrest, Walker is additionally charged with Assault on a Public Servant (Felony 3) and Evading Arrest, among other charges. This is an active investigation, and additional charges may be forthcoming.

Assisting the sheriff's office in the operation were the Texas Department Of Public Safety (CID Division), the San Angelo Police Department, the Texas Parks and Wildlife, and the San Angelo Fire Department.
