BIG LAKE, Texas — A Big Lake man died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the parking lot of the Family Dollar in Big Lake on Feb. 25 around 11:30 a.m. according to the Big Lake Police Department.
The Reagan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene after the male, later identified as Benny J. Davis, drove into the Family Dollar parking lot and reportedly had a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Davis was pronounced deceased on the scene, according to authorities, according to police.
As confirmed by Destin Wilha, Chief Deputy Sheriff of the Reagan County Sheriff’s Office, no other individuals were physically harmed in this incident. Authorities are diligently working to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident.
