San Angelo Fire Dept. Tackles Pickup Fire

SAN ANGELO, TX - In response to a call for a vehicle fire, the San Angelo Fire Department acted on Feb. 22, around 4:30 p.m., after a discarded cigarette sparked flames in the bed of a pickup truck.

According to authorities, the fire originated when the cigarette ignited dry leaves within the truck bed.

Upon arrival, firefighters found that bystanders had already extinguished the flames.

Despite this, a precaution was taken as the responders doused the site once more to ensure complete suppression.

The pickup truck suffered noticeable damage, with the third brake light exhibiting melting, accompanied by burned paint just below the rear window.

No injuries were reported.
