SAN ANGELO – The San Angelo Police Department sent out a Nixle alert early Wednesday morning urging residents and motorists to avoid the intersection of S. Van Buren St. and Vanderventer Ave. near Angelo State University.
The Nixle read, "SAPD: Avoid the area of S Van Buren and Vanderventer Ave due to police activity."
Police had responded to the same area one evening last week. Witnesses say police could be seen with long guns drawn and K-9 units at the ready. No arrests were made at that time and no information was released.
Later this morning, Angelo State University Police posted the following on social media: "UPDATE ANGELO STATE: The incident at S Van Buren and Vanderventer has been resolved. Normal activities in the area may resume."
No information has been released.
