Killeen Teacher Accused of Inappropriate Relationship with a Student

 

KILLEEN, TX - Leslie Renae James, 30, a former teacher at Shoemaker High School, is charged with inappropriate relationship between an educator and a student, according to the Killeen Police Department.

On Nov. 16, 2023, detectives with the special victims unit received a complaint regarding the student-teacher relationship.

An investigation revealed the victim, an 18-year-old male student, was invited to the James’ residence in Killeen, police said. While at the residence, James engaged in sexual contact with the victim, police further said.

The case was presented to the Bell County District Attorney’s Office, and a complaint was returned charging James. Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson issued a warrant for her arrest, and on Jan. 25, 2024,

James turned herself in to the Bell County Jail. Online jail records show she is being held on a $50,000 bond.
