AUSTIN – Iris Iliana Rodriguez, a Texas 10 Most Wanted offender, is now in custody following her arrest on December 11, 2023, in the State of Jalisco, Mexico, by members of INTERPOL Mexico. The successful apprehension was a result of coordinated efforts between the United States Marshals Service (USMS), Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Criminal Investigations (CID) Special Agents from Laredo, and the USMS Country Attaché in Mexico, in collaboration with INTERPOL Mexico. A Crime Stoppers reward will be provided for this arrest.
Rodriguez, 34, had been wanted since January 2015, with warrants issued out of Webb County for three counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact, three counts of harassment, and one count of unlawful restraint. The charges stemmed from an inappropriate relationship she engaged in with an 11-year-old girl, with the initial contact occurring while Rodriguez worked as a counselor in Laredo. Further details can be found in her captured bulletin.
Texas Crime Stoppers, funded by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division, offers cash rewards to individuals providing information leading to the arrest of Texas' 10 Most Wanted Fugitives or Sex Offenders. In 2023, DPS and other agencies successfully arrested 46 individuals from the list, including 23 sex offenders and 12 gang members, with a total of $111,500 in rewards paid for successful tips.
To be eligible for cash rewards, tipsters MUST provide information through one of the following three methods:
- Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).
- Submit a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the relevant fugitive and clicking on the link under their picture.
- Submit a Facebook tip by clicking the “SUBMIT A TIP” link under the “About” section.
All tips are anonymous, and tipsters receive a tip number instead of using their name. DPS investigators collaborate with local law enforcement agencies to select fugitives for the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives and Sex Offenders Lists, which can be found on the DPS website. It is emphasized that individuals should not attempt to apprehend these fugitives, as they are considered armed and dangerous.
