San Angelo Police Searching for Dangerous Assault Suspect

SAN ANGELO – San Angelo Police are searching for a suspect accused of assaulting a woman near the Zips Car Wash on Sherwood Way Thursday afternoon.

According to San Angelo Police Public Information Officer Richard Espinosa, officers were dispatched to the location near the car for a domestic disturbance. Officers made contact with a female victim who said she had been assaulted by a Hispanic male suspect identified as Hector Lopez.

Officers attempted to contact Lopez on Amistad Road behind the car wash. Lopez left the scene on foot and ran into the neighborhood. Officers established a perimeter and called in the drone unit and a K-9 unit to aid in the search.

Officer Espinosa says residents in the neighborhood should be on the lookout for any suspicious individuals or activity.

Lopez was last seen wearing a dark hoodie and pants. He might have taken off the hoodie. He is also wearing dark pants. Anyone with information should call the Police Dispatch.

This is a developing story.
