Houston Rapper Arrested for Brutally Kidnapping a Pregnant Woman

HOUSTON, TX — A Houston rapper known as "Viper" has been arrested on allegations of holding a pregnant woman against her will for years, as stated by police. The suspect is 52-year-old Lee Arther Carter, a famous Texas rapper who goes by the stage name "Viper." He is regarded as one of the originators of "cloud rap." Cloud rap is a subgenre of rap known for its hazy, dreamlike, production style and often revolves around themes of love, betrayal, sex, drugs, and alienation. This style of rap music is often referred to as "mumble rap," or "nonsensical rap."

Law enforcement officials executed an operation on a residence in southeast Houston on Friday afternoon, forcibly entering a premises by smashing a window and opening a door for access.

Commander Michael Collins of the Houston Police Department expressed concerns about a potential individual requiring immediate assistance within the premises. Once inside, authorities discovered a dog, an empty mattress, and a deadbolt that could be locked from the outside.

Viper the rapper aka Lee Carter was identified as the home owner. Police apprehended Carter at a nearby hotel. Due to the severity of the allegations, the presiding judge cleared the courtroom before reading the court documents and set Carter's bond at $100,000.

According to accusations, Carter allegedly picked up a pregnant woman while she was panhandling in south Houston and transported her to his residence. The woman reported to police that she was confined, sexually assaulted, and coerced into consuming drugs, including pills and crack cocaine, over several years.

Details from court documents regarding the woman's potential childbirth and the subsequent circumstances concerning the baby were not disclosed.

Neighbors mentioned sporadic sightings of the woman, describing instances where Carter would transport her for bathing purposes using his car.

Reports from Houston police indicated eight service calls made to the house over the past year. The woman purportedly informed law enforcement about her situation, yet the suspect allegedly retrieved her and returned her to the residence after hospital visits.

In April, the woman reportedly sought help via Carter's laptop, resulting in a police response. Officers described her as unkempt and weighing around 70 pounds.

If the Texas rapper bails out, he will be required to wear an ankle monitor and may not contact the victim. According to his attorney, Carter is a real estate broker and is currently pursuing a Master's in Business Administration and has 7 children. The woman has not been located and police do not know if she ever had her baby, or what happened to her baby.
