Purse Snatching San Angelo Couple Indicted for Stealing Handgun

SAN ANGELO— A San Angelo couple had been indicted for stealing a purse that had a firearm inside it from the arcade in the Sunset Mall.

Brittany Frizzell, 30, and her boyfriend, Michael Foy, 31, were indicted in December 2023 by a Tom Green County grand jury for Theft of a Firearm.

According to court documents, on October 21, 2023, at around 12:30 p.m., San Angelo Police responded to the Sunset Mall, located at 4001 Sunset Drive, regarding a theft call. On scene, a woman said her purse had been stolen from the arcade in the Sunset Mall. She said that her personally owned firearm was inside her purse when it was taken.

A witness gave a description of the couple that took the purse and Frizzell and Foy were located and identified as those people. They were interviewed and both conspired to take the purse from the arcade. Frizzell stole the purse and shoved it into Foy’s backpack.

The weapon was a Ruger LCP .380 caliber and was found as were car keys. They were found in separate locations away from the purse when it was found in the backpack.

Frizzell and Foy were both arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail. Frizzell was booked on October 21, 2023, for Theft of a Firearm and was released on October 27, 2023. Foy was booked on the same day and released the next day for Theft of a Firearm.
