Lubbock PD Seeks Help to ID New Year's Day Shooter

 

LUBBOCK, TX - Investigators with the Lubbock Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit are asking for the public’s help locating a shooting suspect.

On January 1st, Lubbock Police officers responded to a report of shots fired outside of a convenience store in the 2600 block of Avenue Q at 12:50 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers found 46-year-old Obby Galicia and 27-year-old Christopher Galicia were suffering from serious injuries. Both were transported by EMS.

Through the initial course of the investigation, it was determined Christopher and Obby were involved in an argument with an unknown individual outside the convenience store.

The suspect exited the convenience store and began arguing with Obby. The suspect struck Obby with a firearm before firing shots at Obby and Christopher. Both Obby and Christopher were struck by the gunfire.

The suspect fled on foot, according to information from the police department.
