Former San Angelo Police Officer Kicks off Constable Campaign

SAN ANGELO – Veteran and former San Angelo Police officer and current State Park Police Captain Thomas Bigham officially kicked off his campaign for Tom Green County Constable Pct. 4 on the steps of the Ton Green County Courthouse Friday evening.

Bigham is running in the March 5, 2024 Republican Primary.

Watch Bigham's announcement in the video below:

Bigham is retiring from Texas Parks and Wildlife at the end of December. He previously retired after 20 years service from the San Angelo Police department. During his time with SAPD he served in the patrol division, in the Honor Guard and also worked with DARE, and Community Services. In the State Park Police, Bigham’s duties include supervision of over a dozen officers, resource management for search and rescue missions, and incident commander for park events.

Bigham has been recognized with numerous awards in both departments, including the Officer of the Year in Community Service, and Stars in the Park awards. He also serves as an elected director on the board of the National Park Law Enforcement Convention.

Bigham and Gary Cole have announced their respective candidacies for the office being vacated by Constable Randy Harris, who told San Angelo Live earlier this fall that he had decided not to run for reelection.

The deadline to file for the March GOP Primary Ballot is December 11, 2023.
