Naked Woman Found Beaten & Covered in Blood Leads to 4 Indictments

SAN ANGELO— Four individuals have been indicted for assaulting and robbing a woman at the Equalization Channel.

Arriele Ramirez, Darrien Willson, Lorie Salazar, and Josh Huckabee were indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury for Robbery. Aaron Hankins is also listed as a codefendant on the indictment.

According to court documents, on July 10, 2023, at 12:26 a.m., Tom Green County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted the San Angelo Police Department when a woman was found naked, covered in blood, walking on Knickerbocker Road near Mathis Field Airport. The victim was identified and transported to Shannon Medical Center for treatment.

The victim said that she had been sexually assaulted, robbed, and physically assaulted at the Equalization Channel off on Knickerbocker Road. She claimed that Aaron Hankins had sexually assaulted her at the south pool of the Equalization Channel then transported her to the north pool.

At the north pool, the victim and Hankins were met by a white Kia Sorento hatchback that that four people in it that the victim identified as Ramirez, Willson, Salazar, and Huckabee. Then, the victim said that Hankins dragged her out of his maroon Chevy Suburban and the group beat, kicked, and forced her to strip off her clothes except for her shorts. The group then robbed the victim of her personal belongings. Those belongings include reusable shopping bags, a pair of Birkenstock shoes, a laundry basket, and her Samsung 812 cellphone.

The victim stated that she knew the group to be staying at an apartment off of Paint Rock Road in building 10.

During the assault, the victim said that Hankins stated, “I did my part”, then left her with the other four individuals. The victim was observed to have cuts, scratches, contusions and abrasions on her face, arms, and legs and she appeared to be in significant pain. She stated that the four, Ramirez, Huckabee, Willson, and Salazar, all took part in the assault.

San Angelo police located a white Kia Sorento as well as a maroon Chevy Suburban at the Stonegate Apartments located at 850 Paint Rock Road. Hankins was detained in the parking lot and interviewed. After several attempts at deception, Hankins allegedly admitted to being with the victim at the Equalization Channel and having intercourse with her. At first, Hankins stated he did not know the occupants in the white Kia but later said that he did know Ramirez. Hankins then said that he did not know the occupants of the Kia were going to assault the victim and left her with the group as he feared for his own safety.

Hankins also stated that there were three or four people in the Kia and named Ramirez and Huckabee as two of the assailants. He then stated he introduced the victim to Ramirez for the purpose of purchasing narcotics. He stated that the victim stole money and believed the robbery may have been due to that dispute.

At Stonegate Apartments, the victim’s personal items were observed through the rear window of the Kia in plain view. Also, a pair of women’s shorts were located on the passenger side dashboard of Hankin’s Suburban in view.

The owner of the Kia Sorento was contacted and resides in Abilene, Texas. She stated that her son should be in possession of the vehicle but that he allowed his sister, Arriele Ramirez, to operate it.

On July 12, 2023, a search warrant was executed on the Kia Sorento and a social security card belonging to Ramirez was found inside as well as a letter to Joshua Huckabee. Huckabee shares the same address as Ramirez. Additionally, the victim’s personal belongings were recovered.

Ramirez, Huckabee, and Salazar are currently inmates in the Tom Green County Jail and have been since July 2023. Wilson was arrested on July 20, 2023, and was released the same day. Hankins was named as a co-defendant on the indictment but does not appear to have been arrested in connection with the robbery of the victim.

I wish I could get picked for one of these juries.  What a bunch of losers!

And let's hope that all their children have been placed in a better environment.  Sad!

Probably get probation. I'm being sarcastic of course but the very light punishments criminals get these days is a huge contributor to the rise in crime we are constantly seeing.
