Lunch Lady Arrested for Slapping Elementary Student

BUFFALO GAP— A Buffalo Gap lunch lady has been arrested after allegedly slapping an elementary school student.

According to reports, a Buffalo Gap Elementary school resource officer opened an investigation into Leann Thomason back in February after another school employee alerted school officials to an injury to a child incident.

The employee witnessed an elementary student crying in the cafeteria. After questioning the student, it became evident that another school employee, Thomason, had been involved. The student was questioned by the school resource officer. The student said he asked Thomason what was for lunch, then she slapped the student on the back of the head.

Thomason allegedly said she was upset by the question from the student. Thomason was arrested and charged with Injury to a Child and was later released from the Taylor County Jail on $8,000 bond.
