Burglary Suspect Nabbed for Stealing Firearms

SAN ANGELO, TX – San Angelo Police arrested a suspected thief over the weekend.

According to the SAPD, a man was taken into custody Saturday evening after a passerby observed him walking with multiple suspected firearms in the Southwest part of town. Thirty-five-year-old Brady Brazeal was taken into custody for County Warrants, Failure to Identify and Burglary of a Habitation.

The following is a release from the San Angelo Police Department:

Officers were dispatched to 3600blk of Sunset Drive in reference to a “Subject with a Weapon” call for service. Officers arrived on scene and were able to locate Brazeal with what appeared to be multiple firearms in his possession. Brazeal complied with officer’s commands and dropped the suspected firearms on the ground before being detained. Officers learned that the suspected firearms were not real and that they were really pellet rifles. While speaking with officers, Brazeal gave false/fictitious identifying information as he knew he had active County Warrants for his arrest.

While further investigating the incident, a passerby spoke with officers and advised that they had observed Brazeal enter into an attached garage of a residence in the 5200blk of Green Valley Trail. It was learned that Brazeal took the pellet rifles and other assorted property from the open garage without the owner’s consent.

SAPD’s Criminal Investigation Division were requested on scene to assist and Brazeal was ultimately charged with burglary of a habitation, giving fictitious information to a police officer, and unauthorized absence from a community correctional facility.

This investigation/arrest was a great example of our citizen’s recognizing suspicious activity and quickly notifying the SAPD. We ask that the public continues to stay vigilant and report suspicious activity in and around your neighborhoods.
