Two Midlanders Arrested for Brutal Murder

MIDLAND, TX – Two men have been arrested for a brutal murder in Midland Monday morning. 

According to the Midland Police Department, on Oct. 9, 2023 at around 1:14 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 4500 block of Big Spring St. for the report of a deceased person. This location was a convince store.

Once on scene they discovered a man who had been beaten to death. Police were able to identify the man as 25-year-old Raul Ortega. Ortega's body was found behind the store.

Two men have been arrested for the Murder. MPD identifies then as Carlos Diaz Jr., 22, and Angel Alvarado, 19. They are both being held in the Midland County Jail.
