LOS ANGELES, CA— A former sitcom star has been sentenced to jail time for the rape of two women 20 years ago.
That 70’s Show and The Ranch star Danny Masterson has been sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for raping two women back in 2001 and 2003. Charlaine F. Olmedo, a Los Angeles Superior Court Judge, handed the sentence down. Masterson will have to register as a sex offender. A statute of limitations for rape in California does not exist.
Masterson was arrested in June 2020 and charged with forcibly raping three women. He pled not guilty and denied the allegations against him. Masterson and the women involved were all members of the Church of Scientology when the assaults occurred. When Masterson was found guilty on two counts of rape in May 2023, his wife, actress Bijou Phillips allegedly accused him of the same crime.
During sentencing, Masterson’s brother, Malcolm in the Middle actor Chris Masterson, and former Scientologist Leah Remini were present in the courtroom.
Masterson is famous playing Steven Hyde in “That 70’s Show” that ran for eight seasons. Recently, he was written out of Netflix’s “The Ranch” when the allegations came out against him.

They threw the book at him and rightly so. COSA justice system should take heed and follow suit. Start locking up sexual predators and pedophiles long enough for them to be released from prison, directly into a nursing home.
