Kaya Paulhill, 22, has been arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Going Off Bond, and Evading Arrest or Detention.
According to court documents, on August 21, 2023, San Angelo police were dispatched to Glen Park Apartments, located at 3612 Christoval Road regarding an unknown problem. When officers were enroute to the location, they learned that the male suspect, identified as Kaya Paulhill, was on scene possibly with a firearm. Officers then made contact with a witness who said that the victim had been in an alleged assault following a firearm being discharged into her vehicle while she was inside.
Paulhill was taken into custody away from the scene following a short foot pursuit and was found to be in possession of a firearm.
The victim’s vehicle had damage consistent with a firearm discharge. Bullet fragments were located during the inspection of the vehicle.
The victim said that she and Paulhill had been in a dating relationship and they had several children together. The victim said she was going to leave for a previous planned engagement. This caused an argument after which Paulhill left the apartment.
When the victim departed for her previous engagement, Paulhill was waiting by her vehicle and was observed to have a black handgun. Another argument occurred and Paulhill left after the victim threatened to call the cops. Then, when the victim went to leave, Paulhill allegedly fired the handgun into the victim’s vehicle. The victim fled immediately and contacted a witness.
The witness corroborated the visitation and arguments occurred and during the second argument, Paulhill brandished a handgun. Later, the witness received a phone call that Paulhill had allegedly discharged a firearm into the victim’s vehicle.
An officer was actively attempting to locate Paulhill following the start of the investigation. This officer located Paulhill who fled while the officer was trying to stop him. After a short foot pursuit, Paulhill was taken into custody and a firearm was found to have been discarded on the 100 block of South Abe Street.
When Paulhill was taken into custody, he was found to be in possession of additional magazines for the discarded weapon. Officers then went to the 100 block of South Abe and located the firearm, a Glock 22 handgun, that was chambered for .40 caliber rounds and loaded with hollow point rounds of the same caliber.
Paulhill was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Going Off Bond, and Evading Arrest or Detention. He is currently and inmate being held on $752,500 bond.
