Colorado City Man Charged with Murder in Brutal Stabbing

 

OLORADO, TX – A 30-year-old man from Colorado City was arrested this week for murder after authorities found a man stabbed to death.

According to the Colorado City Police Department, on August 8, 2023, at approximately 7 p.m., CCPD, the Mitchell County Sheriff's Office, and Mitchell County EMS responded to a call in the 1900 block of Colorado Street regarding a subject who had been stabbed.

Upon arrival, officers began life-saving measures along with EMS. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries at Mitchell County Hospital. Texas Rangers were contacted to assist with the investigation.

The suspect fled the scene prior to officers' arrival but was taken into custody within two hours of the incident by CCPD and the Mitchell County Sheriff's Office.

Jake Taylor, 30, of Colorado City, was booked into Mitchell County Jail on the charge of Murder.  He is being held without bond.
