Teen Girl Killed in Overnight Shooting in North San Angelo

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The San Angelo Police Department confirmed Friday that a 17-year-old girl was killed in a shooting in north San Angelo Thursday night.

According to the SAPD, on Aug. 3, 2023, at around 8:15 p.m., San Angelo Police Officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Paisano Place for the report of a shooting. Once on the scene, officers found an unresponsive 17-year-old girl who had been shot in the back.

She was unconscious when the police arrived on the scene. The teen was taken to Shannon Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Evidence obtained by the police revealed that the suspect was a 16-year-old man. Witnesses told police that the teen shot the girl in the back and then fled the scene. SAPD has arrested the 16-year-old but did not confirm what he would be charged with.
