SAN ANGELO— A San Angelo woman was arrested by San Angel Police Thursday after she allegedly stabbed a man with scissors.
On August 4, 2023, San Angelo police were dispatched to the 1000 block of East 21st Street for a domestic disturbance. Officers on the scene interviewed witnesses who said that the victim was stabbed by Ibarra with scissors in his bedroom.
The officer observed a cut on the victim’s left thumb and fresh blood droplets on the bedroom floor. The scissors used by Ibarra to stab the victim were seized from the bedroom. Ibarra was detained on scene.
The victim said he was in a dating relationship with Ibarra for the last three or so months. When Ibarra and the victim were arguing about infidelity, she allegedly grabbed a pair of scissors and lunged at the victim, attempting to stab him. He prevented her from stabbing him by using his hands to stop the attack but had his thumb cut in the process.
The victim was able to get the scissors away from Ibarra, who was also interviewed and denied stabbing him with scissors.
Ibarra, 24, was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail for Aggravated Assault of a Date, Family, or Household Member with a Weapon, Class C Theft, and a warrant. She is currently being held on $1,046 bond on the theft warrant. Bond has not been set for the assault charge.
