Grand Jury Indicts San Angelo Man for Assault

UPDATE: Robbery charges were dropped against Levi Garrett Rosser, who accepted a plea deal for misdemeanor assault and served 32 days in the Tom Green County Jail.

SAN ANGELO— A Tom Green County grand jury has indicted a local man, Levi Garrett Rosser, 35, for assaulting a shop owner.

According to court documents, on May 28, 2023, San Angelo police told investigators over the phone that the victim had been assaulted by Rosser, Rosser’s sister, and three unidentified men at the 5200 block of Christoval Road in San Angelo, Texas.

While speaking with the victim, the investigator noticed cuts and bruises around the victim’s eye, which were from the attack. The victim said that he has known Rosser for quite some time and this incident started earlier in the day when he asked Rosser to bring his truck back to the shop on Christoval Road. The victim did allow Rosser to borrow the truck but requested he return the vehicle.

Rosser arrived at the shop and brought his sister and three other men with him, according to court documents. This is when Rosser attacked the victim, punching and kicking him on the ground.

The victim then said he saw Rosser’s sister reach into his pocket and take a diamond ring that was in a ring box. Then, the victim said one of the other unknown men went into the shop and stole two rifles. In the end, the victim said that a cell phone, a Dewalt Air Compressor, several Milwaukee drills and bits were also stolen from the shop.

After this, Rosser got onto the victim’s motorcycle and drove away.

Rosser was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail on June 6, 2023, and was charged with robbery, which was later dropped. He was released on June 7, 2023, on a $65,000 bond.
