San Angelo Warns of Phone Scam Targeting Water Customers

SAN ANGELO – San Angelo city officials Tuesday are warning of a phone scam targeting water utilities customers.

According to the City of San Angelo, there have been numerous reports of phone calls asking water customers to make immediate payments through cash apps at the risk of losing their water service.

The City of San Angelo Water Utilities Department neither accepts nor seeks payments through any third-party cash apps like Venmo, Zelle or PayPal. Texts asking for payment are also never sent by employees to customers.

For billing inquiries, contact Water Customer Service at 325-657-4323 or access your bill online atcosatx.us/waterbill.
