Scammers Hitting Local Residents with Jury Summons Threats

SAN ANGELO – Scammers are once again trying to steal money from Concho Valley residents by posing as law enforcement.

According to the San Angelo Police Department, scammers are posing as Tom Green County Sheriff's Department representatives.

The SAPD posted on social media, "We have received several calls that someone posing as an employee with the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office is making false jury service claims, threatening arrest for a missed summons for jury service. As a reminder, the police department or sheriff’s office will NEVER call you to request money.

If you believe you have been a victim of fraud, please contact us directly on our non-emergency number at 325-481-2696."
