Suspect Who Shot & Killed Deputy Identified & Charged

 

EASTLAND, TX – The suspect accused of murdering an Eastland County Sheriff's Deputy Saturday night has been arrested and identified.

According to multiple reports, on July 23, 2023, Cody Pritchard, 42, of Eastland, was booked into the Stephens County Jail for the capital murder of a peace officer.

As previously reported, on July 22, 2023 at around 9 p.m., Eastland County Sheriff Deputy David Bosecker was shot and killed while responding to a domestic violence call at a home on U.S. Highway 183. When the deputy arrived on the scene, Pritchard had already opened fire on law enforcement.

Although Pritchard's alleged crime occurred in Eastland County, he was taken to the jail in Breckenridge for holding. He is being held in the Stephens County Jail without bond.
