Texas Rangers Investigating Mysterious Death in the Brown County Jail

 

BROWNWOOD, TX – The Texas Rangers are investigating a mysterious death in the Brown County Jail.

According to the Brown County Sheriff's Office, on Sunday, June 25 at approximately 4 a.m., a 47-year-old female inmate in the Brown County Jail was found unresponsive in her bunk. Jail staff and first responders attempted to revive her without success. 

Deputies began the preliminary investigation. The case was turned over to the Texas Rangers, who responded immediately. The sheriff’s office is not speculating on the cause of death. 

Justice of the Peace Harold Hogan has ordered an autopsy.

The deceased’s name is currently being withheld.
