SAN ANGELO, TX – The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office arrested two men on Thursday for a range of crimes, including drug dealing, car thefts, and evading arrest.
According to the Sheriff, on June 1, 2023, Tom Green County Sheriff's Deputies, with the assistance of the San Angelo Police Department's K-9 unit, apprehended Juan Romero, 31, and Quinton Collins, 40, in connection with multiple offenses.
The operation commenced after the sheriff's office received a tip that Romero and Collins were wanted for felony warrants and were involved in drug trafficking. The two were served with a warrant, during which Sheriff discovered a significant quantity of illegal narcotics.
A car chase that later turned into a foot chase resulted in the apprehension of both individuals. They are now facing charges of possession of a controlled substance, manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, evading arrest with a previous conviction, theft of property, possession of marijuana, assault family violence, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Romero's bond is set at $214,000, while Collins' bond is set at $166,000. Both remain in custody at the Tom Green County Jail.

On Thursday, June 1, 2023, Deputies of the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division and Criminal Investigations Division conducted a proactive operation involving the distribution of illegal narcotics and criminal activity within Tom Green County. During the operation, Deputies located and arrested two wanted felons, recovered a stolen vehicle, and seized a quantity of illegal narcotics.
Juan Romero, age 31, was arrested for eight Tom Green County warrants, including warrants for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Manufacturing and Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Evading Arrest/Detention with a Previous Conviction, Theft of Property, and Possession of Marijuana. Romero was also charged with Evading Arrest/Detention with a Previous Conviction and Possession of a Controlled Substance after fleeing from Deputies during a traffic stop.
Quinton Collins, age 40, was arrested for one felony Tom Green County warrant and four Runnels County warrants, to include Evading Arrest/Detention with Previous Conviction, two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Manufacturing and Delivery of a Controlled Substance, and Assault Family Violence. Collins was also charged with Evading Arrest/Detention with a Previous Conviction after a foot pursuit occurred when he was located.
