The officers then spoke with a witness on scene. She claims that she and Sanjuan were having a conversation in the parking lot. At some point Paulhill and his two children arrived and were walking away from his black Charger.
The witness then told the officers that while Paulhill was walking away, Sanjuan began arguing with him. The two were auguing after Paulhill believed Sanjuan made a rude comment to him.
Seconds before the recording, the witness claims that Paulhill pulled his shirt up to show the pistol. While doing it he told Sanjuan "you don't want none." This led to the escalation of the fight and the shooting.
Another witnesses on scene, a juvenile, told officers that they had seen two men without shirts on in a verbal altercation. At some point one man pulled a gun from his pocket and shot the other man multiple times. The juvenile finished by telling police that the shooter got into a black car and fled the scene.
Police then spoke with Paulhill. He admitted to arguing with Sanjuan, pulling out a black 9mm handgun, and shooting Sanjuan. The black 9mm handgun was located and seized during the investigation.
Pualhill was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. He remains in jail on a $250,000 bond. Sanjuan was hospitalized for his injuries. He survived but had to undergo a number of surgeries. To help Sanjuan and his family, click his GoFundMe link here.
