Wild 100 MPH Chase Ends in Crash in the Big Country

 

TYE, TX – A high speed chase reaching speeds over 100 mph through the Big Country early Wednesday ended with a crash in Jones County.

According to the Tye Police Department, on May 3, 2023, at approximately 7:00 a.m., troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety were involved in a high speed chase through Jones County.

Multiple reports out of the Big Country report that the chase was between a car and the troopers down I-20. During the chase, the car reached speeds of up to 100 mph and at one point it drove onto oncoming traffic.

The chase eventually ended when the suspect vehicle crashed into two other vehicles. Both of the drivers in those vehicles and the suspect were all hospitalized after the crash.

DPS troopers confirmed they will charge the driver once he is released from the hospital.
