Street Fight Turns Deadly; No Arrests Made

 

AMARILLO, TX – No arrests were made after a street fight turned into a shooting in the Panhandle.

According to the Amarillo Police Department, on May 1st at 3:25 p.m., Amarillo Police officers were called to a residence in the 1200 block of Iris Street on a shooting. Officers located a 28-year-old male at that location suffering from a gunshot wound.

The shooter was identified as a 19-year-old male. Witnesses told investigators that there had been an altercation in the street.

The 28-year-old male left the scene and later returned with a baseball bat. The male tried to attack the 19-year-old with the bat and was shot.

The 28-year-old male was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening-injuries. The investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made.
