Indicted Woman: 'One of Us Will Die Before This Marriage Comes to an End'

SAN ANGELO, TX – A woman not happy about her pending divorce was indicted in Apr. after being arrested for threatening to kill her soon-to-be ex husband.

According to court documents, on Apr. 10, 2023, Michelle Rodriguez, 21, of San Angelo, was indicted by a Tom Green County Grand Jury for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Rodriguez was originally arrested for the crime on Dec. 13, 2022. Officers with the San Angelo Police Department were to the Candle Wood Suites for the report of an unknown problem.

The officers spoke with the victim of the assault. He informed the officer that he and Rodriguez were in the process of getting a divorce. The two agreed to meet at the hotel to talk about that divorce but the meeting eventually went south.

The affidavit states that the conversation deteriorated and Rodriguez began to say one of the parties would have to die in order for the marriage to come to an end.

The report says Rodriguez pulled out a knife and threatening her soon-to-be ex-husband. The victim was able to barricade himself inside of hotel room and text 911 for help. Once police arrived the conflict was defused but Rodriguez admitted to threatening the man with the knife.

Rodriguez's next day in court is scheduled for Jun. 14, 2023.
