Convicted Thief Indicted for Stealing Tools from Feed Store

SAN ANGELO— A San Angelo man has been indicted for theft after allegedly stealing a tool set from Grogan’s Farm and Ranch.

Jesse Clinton Scott, 45, has been indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury for theft of property after allegedly stealing a Milwaukee brand rachet set from Grogan’s Farm and Ranch.

According to court documents, San Angelo police responded to Grogan’s, located at 3744 Summer Crest Drive on January 18, 2023, regarding a theft. Once on scene, officers made contact with an employee and learned that the theft involved three subjects, one of which was Scott.

The officer reported that Scott had stolen a 3/8 Milwaukee brand ratchet set that was valued at $229.06, concealed the unpaid merchandise inside his clothing, and exited the store. A female co-defendant accompanied Scott as he concealed the merchandise in this clothing and would allegedly steal from Grogan’s as well. Then, another co-defendant entered the feed store with the ratchet set and attempted to return the stolen item.

An investigator spoke with the complainant who said the Scott and the two co-defendants were identified via a Facebook post. Then, investigators viewed photos from the San Angelo Police Database and were able to identify the defendant as Scott.

After viewing security footage, the investigator confirmed that Scott entered the store, selected the ratchet set, concealed it in his clothing, and exited the store without paying for the item.

A warrant was issued for Scott on January 30, 2023, and he was arrested on March 8, 2023 for the theft and he is currently an inmate in the Tom Green County Detention Facility.
