San Angelo Man Acquitted of Murder is Finally Free

SAN ANGELO, TX – The man who was acquitted of murder in the Park 2400 murder trial has finally been released from jail.

As previously reported, on Mar. 11, 2023, Joe Angel Trevino, 40, of San Angelo, was found not guilty of killing Jason Garivay back in the summer of 2021. For the full story see: Joe Angel Acquitted of Park 2400 Murder

Despite the acquittal, it was revealed in court that Trevino had to stay in the Tom Green County Jail because of a parole violation. That violation was out of Austin so it was unclear if Trevino would have to go back to prison.

After a month of more hearings the parole violation was ultimately dropped.

Ultimately, Joe Angel was booked into the Tom Green County Jail on Sep. 8, 2021 at 7:15 p.m. and was released on Apr. 17, 2023 at 5:58 p.m.
